O! The Joy

After 4000 miles of journeying, in early November 1805 Lewis and Clark believed that they were seeing the Pacific Ocean and reported, "Ocian in View! O! The Joy." I love this as a perfect statement of the ineffable.

This weekend Adam and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. I've been sitting here for far too long trying to come up with an adequate and thoughtful post about what these last 10 years have meant to me and how I am certain that my marrying Adam has made me a far better person than I ever could have been on my own. But I'm feeling plagued that every statement I type out (and then delete) is a huge understatement. I'm not enough of a writer, and it's far too late in the evening, to boil my feelings about our marriage down to a couple of paragraphs.

But if I know anything for certain after the last 10 years together, it is that I hope that there's an ocean's worth of marriage ahead of us....because, O! The Joy.

Thank you, A. I love you mucho.

Congrats Jennette. I never realized that you two got married the same year Jamie and I did.

I guess this means that if I had gotten to procreating, I could also have a triathlete by now!
