Max has finally lost his first tooth! We've been waiting for this one since it first started to loosen on the weekend before his 7th birthday in February. It seems that he's had one of his fingers in his mouth playing with it ever since. It came out just this afternoon on the bus ride home from school. Hooray!
Flipside: The new permanent teeth are starting to poke through in the gums behind the baby teeth....I think I see one lucky orthodontist purchasing a new boat paid for by the work that Max's mouth will surely need.

Yay Max! Mabel had a tooth like that recently that took ages to come out, and it kind of drove us all crazy. Dean kept wanting to yank it, I kept defending her from him, but in the end even I was starting to want to yank it. Or at least wiggle it hard for her.
Mabel's going to make an orthodontist rich, too -- there's just no way all those grown-up teeth will fit in her little mouth.
Congratulations Max! Was it fun being the Tooth Fairy?
SOOO EXCITING!
I was so sad because I lost my first tooth in 2nd grade when no one really cared anymore and there wasn't a tooth bulletin board....
And as for braces...mama mia, save us! It is going to be quite a spendy ordeal at our house too!
Yikes! I am so behind on everyone's blogs! Your kitchen is really starting to come together! Way to be creative with the cooking and congrats to Max. That is all wonderful! Can't wait to see more of the updates.
It is so odd: our kids (as Anna explained) were late tooth losers, but Emily's Max lost them way early. There's just no accounting for it.
