...over a bar of Scharffen Berger's 72% cacao 10th anniversary limited series blend, that even after three years of owning this house, every single time I do any kind of work in the yard I find an old ball (or two, or three). Really.
The previous owners had 3 sons and they lived here for 15 years.....so I guess that adds up to a lot of ball playing--and ball losing--in the yard. Or else, it's a house ghost that is just trying to torment me.

For the first two years in our house, we kept finding yards and yards of orange twine. It was everywhere in the dirt. It was Spencer's nemesis. He still gets a little fired up when I mention it.
We just keep finding crap the neighbors grandkids drop in our yard. My kids love it.
Oh yeah, and the lots of dog poo. Ick.
I like the ghost theory the best.
