Easter

 Happy Easter.

This year we were without Adam for Easter.  He left on Friday for a conference in San Francisco and was going to be there for the entire following week.  So, rather than spend the holiday weekend and the next week's spring break in our boring old house where I'd just feel pressure to do stuff like mow the lawn and hassle the kids to clean the playroom, I decided to ignore all of that and head out to NYC for the week.  Besides, we couldn't be upstaged by Adam's trip and the resulting phone calls sharing the details of events like  going to church in the Berkeley ward, game nights with the Marosticas, et al, each lunch/evening's outing with Berkeley friends, Easter dinner with the Childs, camping with Kami in Point Reyes, and/or eating my favorite Bay Area foods. I have to trust him that he did actually attend the conference at some point.  And, he is apparently bringing me back something like 75lbs of bulk-food treasures from Berkeley Bowl, so I can't complain too much.

So we started the weekend with an egg hunt on Friday sponsored by some friends.  Then we headed out on Saturday for NYC.

 The obligatory Easter-day pics--post Church.

The weather was so fantastic that Max and Saul and I decided to walk home together.  Max wanted to take my picture....along with about 3000 other photos during week, which I'll spare you and let him save for his own blog.

The night before we dyed some eggs with Grandma Sha-sha.

Then after church we had our little in-apartment egg hunt.

The rest of the week just continued to get better (as well as the weather).  Hopefully I can actually get that posted soon, just to show Adam up....um, I mean, show Adam.

I'm sorry you missed out on the Berkeley fun, but glad you got some NYC fun (although I'm sad we didn't get to cross paths). Your family is beeeeeuuuuutiful in their Easter duds.

Great pictures! Looks like a fun trip. And I am so jealous of the gorgeous sunshine and short sleeves. It has been snowing and freezing here.

I know! When Andy said he was going to lunch with Adam I just had to wonder when I would get to have lunch with YOU!?!

Kids love egg hunts no matter the location! I bet they didn't bat an eyelash at the smaller square footage of hunting ground. NY looks almost as beautiful as you all.

Hope to see you soon! And I hear congratulations are in order!

That was such a smart way to deal with being left behind.

(I relate--earlier this year one of my sisters, whom I'll call Sister 2, told us she wanted to do a sisters' retreat, and we were all up for it except for Sister 3, who said she couldn't afford it. And THEN last month Sister 3 suddenly decided to go visit my brother in Emeryville for the weekend, and Sisters 2 and 4 found a way to go, too, (although it was hard for Sister 2) but I couldn't possibly get away. SO UNFAIR. But I made up for it by going to Montreal with Dean last week, and frankly my turn was WAY overdue. But it was a lovely, relaxing trip and I think it actually did make up for all those fun places he's gone without me. But . . . now I'm thinking I'm still owed an SF trip, too, though.)

Anyway, that's QUITE enough about me. LOVE the Easter photo. :)
